Breadcrumbs likens the story of Adam and Eve being cast from the garden of Eden to Hansel and Gretel finding themselves lost and wandering in the deep, dark woods. Georgia wrote this song at the beginning of her romantic relationship with Rich from the band.

Breadcrumbs
----------
Brother, brother where are we?
Again we pass this tainted tree,
so blind and beaten.
Ladder, ladder fall for me
I’ll climb so high that I can see
our breadcrumbs eaten.
Martyr, martyr let me be
should I feel sorry to have freed
my gentle keeper.
Stop and let me take a bite,
all this running builds the appetite
for something sweeter.
There, circling the flooded flame
she bears the olive and she sings your name.
One wing painted in the sodden sky,
the other sleeping as she tries to fly,
singing:
“I was the bird of the mountain" "I was the bird of the mountain”.
We are running, running
through the bracken, through the blackberries,
and every fistful’s
dark, dark dribble brings me back
a stranger to my brother’s house,
the lonely thinker.
I could have been the next jam jar drinker- a bringer of bears.
Will you bring me a song from the father,
bring me a song from the father.
How he sent us running, how we came to hide
so far from the garden.
I am Adam, I am sky
I give a rib and get an alibi,
tempted by the Sabbath stealer.
Lay me where you’d like to lie,
stay me through another’s eyes
your gentle healer.
See me one foot wanting in the apple seed,
the other twisted in the tangled weeds.
Would you tape my fingers from the bitter leaves?
Or were we one world wiser having watched them bleed?
Will you lead me back to the garden?
Will you lead me back to the garden?
Running wild
I was always a mountain child.
Come carry me, carry me home.
I am the bird of the mountain,
I am the bird of the mountain.

Loris and the Lion weave gentle tales of joy and loss; a patchwork of sonic delights built by (wo)man and machine to soothe
the soul and feed the heart.
A duo from Liverpool, navigating life together accompanied by: fairytales; folktales; lifetales.
Calling to mind the sounds and spirit of Joanna Newsom, Tori Amos and Jesca Hoop....more
I do not normally cry because of music, or fiction in general. Chords made me cry. Every time I listen to it, it still feels like a warm, tight goodbye hug.
But it isn't what convinced me to buy this album, because damn, I knew I would right from the start of Secret Worlds, and knew it ever more at every song. The way the songs here can combine to tell a whole new story, and even reference others from The Horror and the Wild, is just magnificent. Mayana
I discovered this band mere weeks ago through pure chance; someone recommended Fair in a discussion about wholesome songs. And it was; love at first listen. YouTube recommended me Battle Cries next, so I gave that a listen too, and the the energy and the overlapping lyrics made me fall in love anew.
I bought this album and Ruin less than a day later. Everything TAD have made is true art, different from everything else I've heard. Mayana
